Spanish Banks is arguably the most popular skimboarding spot in all of British Columbia. On a hot saturday afternoon you are likely to find a couple hundred skimboarders taking up every available tide pool at "Spanks" (Spanish Banks). It is not reccomended to wear white boardshorts/bikini to skimboard at Spanish Banks as the water is pretty mucky... This muck also adds to the slickness of the sand at the beach, which is great for lonnngggg rides in the tide pools. Spanish Banks goes off at low tide and high tide equally, there have been lots of epic small wave skimming sessions at high tide at Spanks. |
