| TRICK NAME: | Big Spin | |
| DESCRIPTION: | This is a 360 Shuvit with a 180 Body Varial. The first step to learning this trick is to master the 180 ollie. Once the 180 ollie is good to go, you try to do a 360 shuvit and then use the same motion of your body to complete a 180 ollie. | |
| TRICK NAME: | 180 Ollie | |
| DESCRIPTION: | This is a tough trick to nail down right away... It involves a straight ollie and a lot of twisting of the hips. You got to make sure that you keep the nose of your board high enough so that you can control it with your front foot... All the turning is in the front foot and in the hips. | |
| TRICK NAME: | Pop Shuvit | |
| DESCRIPTION: | Spinning the board underneath your feet... This is done by doing a sort of \'leprechan\' kick where you kick out your back foot and try to keep your front foot stationary. You do not want to push the board forward or backward, keep it below you. | |
| TRICK NAME: | Ollie | |
| DESCRIPTION: | The bread and butter of skimboarding, the ollie is all about the pop. After a good solid toss, you compress your body to the board, bending your knees and counterbalancing on your heels. Begin to extend at the peak of your speed starting first with your arms and shoulders then your hips and knees, lifting last with your heels to bring the board up and underneath you as you extend upwards. Compress at the height of your jump for maximum amplitude, land with your feet flat and balanced and ride away in style. | |
| TRICK NAME: | frontside pop shuv | |
| DESCRIPTION: | Learn pop shuvits and learn how to turn frontside. You should feel comfortable with turning at least 90 degrees frontside. 1. toss with moderate to fast speed, lock in for a pop shuv. 2. compress to the board and extend high and balanced, treat it like an ollie. 3. as you begin to lift your front foot, push forward with your back heel, lifting your toes as you pop. The toes will help in the pop and your heel will initiate the rotation. 4. lift your body and legs as high as you can, knees to your chest and concentrate on catching the board with your front foot at the height of your pop. 5. cushion your landing with your back foot but hammer down the front foot. It should have caught the board right on the balls of your front toes. The board will have a tendency to go vertical when you learn to pop them, so leading with your front foot will help flatten the board out as you reach the height of your jump. always remember to compress before popping to maximize amplitude. | |
