Skim Jam III went off on June 7th at Cadboro Bay in Victoria, BC. The event had 24 riders and had a spectator head-count of 124 people! It was a great turnout considering the rediculous wind that all the participants had to fight throughout the day.
Skim Jam III was hosted by UVic Engineering and SkimBC.com (woo hoo), the Engineers were cooking up delicious hotdogs during the entire event and had a whicked DJ spinning tunes all day (thanks Poya!).
The sponsors of Skim Jam III included: Harbour Air, Switch Boardshop, 77 Skimboards, Zed Skimboards, Akwa Industries, Sitka Surfboards and Coastline Snow and Surf.
There were some sick tricks pulled by the riders at the event and some NASTY bails (check out Derek's 50-50 to back snapper on the up-flat rail photo below!). All the riders brough out there top quality tricks on that windy Saturday, thankfully nobody got seriously hurt!
All the riders who made it onto the list below have gained points towards Switch Boardshops Trifactor Skim Series, it is a 3 event skimboarding series where the next two events are at Gonzales Beach on July 20th and Witty's Lagoon on August 10th. Make sure to mark them on your calendar!
